All students accepted to the Italian Studies Ph.D. program receive full funding (tuition, stipend) for five years. Ph.D. students in Italian Studies may spend up to two of their fellowship years at La Pietra. Students will work in the rich archives and libraries of Florence (the Archivio di Stato, the Biblioteca Nazionale, the Biblioteca Laurenziana, and the Biblioteca Riccardiana) and participate in the Work-in-Progress Seminar offered each spring. Ph.D. students from other departments in the humanities, such as art history, comparative literature, history, music, and fine arts are welcome to attend the program. Learn more...
